Wedding Albums vs. Online Galleries
The delivery of my couple’s photos has always felt a little disconnected to me.
I love getting to know my couples, digging deep so we become friends. Throughout the process of wedding planing, I offer any help I can contribute to my couples. During the day of the wedding, I offer every bit of help I have to take any stress out of the question and to invite an atmosphere of positivity and anticipation. But the delivery process, the last important step, always felt disconnected.
So I decided I wanted to wait and let my first wedding couple of 2019, Sydney and Nate, see their photos for the first time physically instead of scrolling through a phone'/computer screen. Sydney and Nate were all in.
It was worth it.
Seeing Sydney and Nate’s faces light up browsing through their album was a moment I’ll never forget. I’ve never been there for a couple through this part of the process. It was incredible seeing them cherish each photo, each moment. When browsing through galleries online, I think we’re all guilty of seeing each photo for half a second and moving on — which isn’t giving your wedding day moments the love they deserve.
Physically in front of them on the page, I could feel the excitement radiating from them.
I’m definitely doing all I can to make sure future couples get a physical album with their photos. It’s an heirloom that I know they’ll be showing to their friends and family, to reminisce together, to laugh together. Unlike the individual, solo act of scrolling through an online gallery, their wedding photos have become something that brings them closer together and closer with others. It invites everyone in to enjoy and relish in the best moments from their special day.
