Wedding photography is my full-time career. I’ve been going strong since 2014, providing images for couples that they’ll share for the rest of their lives.
I’ve always been a creative kid. Growing up, my parents loved and supported the fact that I was a heavy reader. But I wouldn’t only read! I loved to create. I vividly remember writing my own short stories and trying to write fantasy novels. I drew swords and dragons, learned Photoshop when I was 10 — and I used it to create digital versions of my favorite ideas. And it’s super fun to see how all that culminated into what I do now.
This was all HEAVILY influenced by my grandfather — Dan Mehn. Growing up, my grandpa’s real job was working in Renaissance festivals all over the country — he was a woodworker and he specialized in building Medieval-era furniture.
Growing up and seeing this was even a possibility only strengthened my love for the arts. I try to commemorate my Grandpa’s business with my design choices — the Renaissance-style sculpture figures in my logo, the hard-cut edges of the designs.
More about me?
I’ve got a sweet, sweet Great Dane named Clifford who is my best friend.
I read a lot. I write a lot. (Favorite books: Steinbeck’s East of Eden, Dumas’s The Knight of Maison-Rouge, Woolf’s To the Lighthouse)
Type 4 enneagram, of course.
Any sort of folklore, mythology, fairy-tale, I’m in.
Now it’s your turn! I want to get to know you, friend.
